At the Museum of Art, Kochi, the exhibition “Revive Time” Kaki Tree Project in Kochi was held from the 20th of July through the 16th of September, 2001, which was followed by a related exhibition and several workshops until the tree planting ceremony on the 17th of February, 2002. One of the related events were the exhibition “From Dappan (Escape from the Domain) Road to Kaki Tree.” The exhibition displayed works created during the workshop conducted by an artist, Mr. Yoshishisa Nakano.
The workshop consisted of two parts: “Dappan Road Experience Tour” that was held on the 3rd of November and “3D Chronology from Clay” that was held on 4 occasions, on the 17th, 18th of November as well as on the 1st and 2nd of December. In “Dappan Road Experience Tour”, the participants walked the road which Ryoma Sakamoto took when he escaped from the Tosa Domain, and recorded the scenery with videos and photos. For the “3D Chronology from Clay”, the participants made a 3D chronology from clay which depicts the history of the last 140 years, from Ryoma’s dappan road to the “Revive Time” Kaki Tree Project, focusing on the history of technology and weapons. The impressive 3D chronology, which was made for the period of 4days, was on display in the museum during the exhibition period.
