A big earthquake struck the L’Aquila region of Abruzzo in 2009. After the earthquake, the first grade students started to do a mural painting to pass on stories of the disaster.
At the workshop held at the tree planting ceremony, they drew a kaki tree bearing huge fruit on the big white wall. Messages of peace passed along by the kaki tree will be added on the mural in the coming years.
